Chad was born and raised in Waxahachie, Texas, and graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1982. He began his career as a heavy-line mechanic with the local Chevrolet dealership, where he worked for ten years. During this time, he also proudly served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge.

In 1991, Chad joined TU Electric, which later became TXU/Oncor and TXU Gas. In 1998, he accepted a Service Technician position with the gas division in McGregor and relocated his family to the community. Since then, he has dedicated more than 28 years to serving the citizens of McGregor. Three of his children graduated from McGregor High School, and he is proud to have nine grandchild, three of which currently attending McGregor ISD.

Following Atmos Energy's acquisition of the gas business in 2004, Chad was promoted to Field Supervisor for the McGregor/Gatesville team. From 2011 to 2020, he served as Operations Supervisor for the Temple and Killeen districts, overseeing budgets, capital projects, fleet operations, and teams of more than 20 employees in each district.

After retiring from Atmos Energy in August 2020, Chad joined the City of McGregor in February 2021 as Assistant Public Works Director. Later that year, he was promoted to Director of Public Works, where he continues to lead the department with a commitment to providing reliable infrastructure and exceptional public service for the community.

Chad and his wife, Gracie, have been married for more than 35 years and are proud to call McGregor home. They remain committed to supporting the continued growth and success of the community they have served for decades.
