REQUIRES High School Diploma or GED; AND two (2) years of responsible experience performing street and surface drainage maintenance, repair and construction. Experience in a municipal or governmental setting preferred. MUST have valid Class B Texas Driver’s License with airbrake and driving record must meet or exceed guidelines set forth by the City. Commercial Driver’s License Class A (CDL with tanker endorsement) is REQUIRED. MUST be able to operate various types of light and heavy equipment including backhoe, dump truck, iron wheel roller, maintainer and tractor. Knowledge of Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) is preferred.

Part time Event Coordinator
Job Type: Part-Time

Job Category: Community Services Department/ Exchange Event Center
To coordinate and monitor the operation of all facility related event center space rentals, catering, food and beverage, bar, audio/visual, and all technical aspects of scheduled functions during business hours, evening hours and weekends at the Exchange Event Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Customer liaison for planning and coordinating events held at the Exchange Event Center and Cavitt Caufield Center.
- Provides detailed direction for the event related crews while on duty.
- Advises and assists the customers in completion of contractual agreements between the customer and the Exchange Event Center
- Assist lessees with move in and move out procedures. Enforce policy and procedures plan to lessees during events.
- Operates and/or coordinates the set up and operation of all audio/visual equipment necessary for events.
- Assumes responsibility for cash and check deposits as needed.
- Completes accident reports on employees and customers.
- Ensures safety hazards are corrected immediately.
- Schedules customer appointments meets with customers and enters contracts in Incode.
- Preforms other duties as assigned.
- Serve on various committees as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Graduation from high school or equivalent; and
- One (1) year experience in event coordination
- Any equivalent education or experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, material safety data sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to work with audio/visual equipment such as house lighting, sound control systems, amplifiers, projectors, etc.
- Ability to speak with and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, lessees, the public and other employees.
- Ability to effectively communicate instructions and policies.
- Ability to read and comprehend client diagrams and checklists
- Ability to work with Incode.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of day-to-day variables
- Ability to identify first aid and applicable precautions
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to multi-task in stressful situations, where multiple events are occurring simultaneously
- Ability to use Microsoft Office, MSWord and MS Excel
- Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Special Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license by date of hire.
- Must obtain and maintain a Texas Driver’s License within 60 days of hire.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends, holidays and flexible hours driven by event scheduling.
